Adam Katz joined KKG in 2014, and is a shareholder in KKG’s Commercial Real Estate Group. Adam’s background includes representing purchasers, sellers, tenants, owners and property managers in a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including sale, acquisition, financing, and leasing matters. In these contexts, he structures, negotiates, and drafts leases, finance documents, purchase and sale agreements, and related conveyance and business instruments. In addition, Adam also counsels clients on lease interpretation, brokerage, property management, construction, and title matters. Before joining KKG, Adam served as General Counsel to Roswell, Georgia based Mimms Enterprises, Inc., an owner, manager and operator of retail, industrial and office properties throughout the Southeast, and as Real Estate Counsel with Aaron Rents, Inc., an NYSE corporation headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Adam is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, and is admitted to practice law before the Georgia Supreme Court, Georgia Court of Appeals, and United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia.

Outside of the office Adam enjoys spending time with his wife, son and daughter and is a devoted Tennessee Volunteers fan. He enjoys attending college and professional football, baseball and basketball games, and coaching and playing softball for his synagogue softball team.

Represented Roswell, Georgia based Mimms Enterprises and its affiliated entities in the simultaneous sale of The Exchange at Hammond Shopping Center, a 176,376 square foot, Whole Foods-anchored retail center, and the Parkside Shopping Center, a 158,411 square foot retail shopping center for a sale price in excess of $90 million dollars. These assets comprise 25 contiguous acres of commercial real estate in the heart of Sandy Springs, Georgia, at the intersection of Roswell Road and Hammond Drive, one of the most vibrant and growing submarkets in the Southeast.

Represented Concordia Properties and its affiliated entities in the negotiation of a master ground lease and ancillary development leases, easements and agreements for the development of the Marietta Square Market in Marietta, Georgia. The Market is 18,500 square foot hall of restaurants and retail shops located near the Marietta Square, which features a 1922 trolley car at the center of a revitalized warehouse surrounded by retail and restaurant “stations” and common area seating.

Represented a Florida based investor in the acquisition and purchase financing of The Enterprise Mill, a historic residential, office and retail complex located astride the Augusta Canal in Augusta, Georgia. The Enterprise Mill, which includes an in service Federally regulated hydroelectric turbine that provides electricity for the operation of the buildings on its 9 acre site, is one of Augusta’s prime historic landmarks.

Represented Mimms Enterprises in a portfolio sale of more than 2 million square feet of retail, office, and industrial property. With an aggregate value over $80 million dollars, the Atlanta Business Chronicle documented this portfolio sale one of the largest off-market real estate transactions in metropolitan Atlanta history.

Represent real estate portfolio owners, developers and investors in the purchase and sale of numerous commercial properties including, industrial, retail, land parcels and office buildings.

Represent national retailer tenants and franchisees in lease transactions throughout the United States.
