David Cooper successfully represented The Shopping Center Group (TSCG) in its efforts to recover a six-figure brokerage commission. Refused payment of a commission to which it felt it was entitled on a large landlord/tenant transaction, TSCG filed suit to recover a six-figure commission. The defendants asserted a variety of defenses involving contract, agency and BRRETA compliance issues. TSCG overcame those defenses in the trial court. Aggressively representing TSCG in the case, KKG was able to improve and expedite collection of the disputed amount by forcing the shopping center owner to post collateral from third parties to secure the trial court judgment. On appeal, the trial court decision was affirmed in September 2015.
