Bill Berg, a shareholder who has been with KKG since 1986, practices in KKG's commercial real estate group. He represents developers, owners, and borrowers in a variety of transactions including leasing, acquisitions, sales, and financing. Bill's experience covers a broad array of property types including shopping malls, open-air and lifestyle centers, single tenant buildings, office and medical office developments, office/light industrial parks, apartments, and undeveloped land. His client engagements frequently include negotiating, structuring and drafting leases, ground leases, purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, easement agreements, letters of intent, work letters, and development agreements. Bill also has considerable experience in general business and commercial law and operational matters related to commercial real property including property management matters, lease enforcement, construction and lien issues, vendor disputes, and brokerage commission issues.
After graduating magna cum laude from Wabash College in 1979, Bill obtained his law degree from Emory University in 1982. He spent the first four years of his law practice as a litigation attorney. This background allows Bill to effectively advise clients facing litigation and more importantly to help his clients avoid litigation.
When not in the office, Bill enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his wife Carol and with his daughters Ellie and Erica. |
